I'm with catlady on this one. I wouldn't have take it up. Why not just buy it on market, that way if it starts plummeting, then you can dump it straight away and not have your money tied up until they issue the SPP shares? You also are guaranteed to get your full allocation.
Getting in early doesn't make any difference in the vast majority of SPPs.
