As an alternative SFG has placed great importance on genome research to achieve a superior prawn in terms of size, growth rate and stocking capability.

Also its important to emphasize that the White Spot outbreak affecting Moreton Bay prawn farms did not affect the prawn farms of SFG and others which are located more than a 1,000 kms to the north.

Additionally Project Sea Dragons location is completely removed from other land-based prawning operations.
