the background to the areva/pdn dispute is the near 100% take-over of smm by pdn a few yrs back. areva sort of threw a spanner in the works to prevent pdn developing smm in which areva has a locked-in minority stake.
one can read alot into this settlement:
1. is there an areva/pdn strategic alliance being worked out?
2. is areva another predator or a white knight in the event of a cameco bid?
