Northern Star pumelled by analysts
Gold miner Northern Star has been hit by not one or two but five analyst downgrades this morning, what has the stock firmly placed at the top of the losers list.
Cuts were made by JPMorgan, Cannacord, RBC, Macquarie and Citi after its third quarter production largely fell below estimates.
Ahead of lunch Northern Star was trading down 4.5 per cent at $8.91 and as low as $8.81.
JPMorgan analysts said the biggest drag had been the miss at the company’s Pogo operations - production down 6pc from its expectations.
Meanwhile, Macquarie tipped Pogo production to rapidly return to a +300kopa production rate.
