I have an angle/play in New Hope that I'm looking to have torn apart if I'm wrong.

It goes that a Investment in NHC at under $4 is the equivalent of having a Term Deposit paying at least 18%ish by November.

It's based on the Special Dividend of 70 cents being paid in November 2009 Fully Franked.
This Special is GUARANTEED because-
the 60% Substantial Holder Soul Patterson wants it!!
The money is in the Bank
and the "books" for eligibility have NOT been closed yet ie even though announced the dividend will be paid to shareholders as of about October 09.

So IF all the above is totally True and Correct?One can move onto Downside/Risks in going for this Way Above the Odds "Interest" return.

Chief Risk is that NHC does not put on Price Wise this 70cents+ by November resulting in a Dividend Payment Price Drop like occurs most every time the Books Close on a Dividend in any share.
That's quite a Risk, definitely amongst the Possibilities.

However if one gets past the Media Ramblings about the Disaster in Coal Prices and sees,nay KNOWS that this media is about Steel Making Coking Coal and not THERMAL [which is New Hope's "Forte"]
If one looks at New Hope as a Stand Alone/Fully Funded Operation etc etc blah
If one even reads this new Announcement and gleans the FACT that New Hope is expanding it's Mine Operation so it can ship out thru it's own Brisbane Port Coal Terminal Thermal Coal that is currently Price/Tonne INCREASING.

well one should at least cast one's eyes towards New Hope,hey?
