This plant will be good for the Australian sector as a whole if it ever gets off the ground but lets not forget they announced demo plant plans over 12 months ago but still not started.
It is likely that the KLL Beyondie 75Ktpa project will be the first "demonstration" in Australia and significantly more expensive than what SO4 proposeS.
As for talk of "economies of scale" is anyone here convinced? These guys are talking about potentially using 9 lakes which might have a combined drainable resource the size of what RWD has at LD. Yes, they are very close to infrastructure but I can't see how using multiple sites will lead to reduced costs. I am definitely not convinced that the multiple sites will project against weather events.
Nevertheless it would be great to see this expedited. There is clearly some reason why Lake Wells as a stand alone project isn't viable. It would be very interesting to know what Mitsubishi has actually said to these guys because whatever has been said will relate to all of the Australian projects.
