Sorry, but I'm sure you'll understand if I can't name my previous employers in an open forum such as this, but I can say that I did wear a few different shirts while working in the Cloncurry-Mt Isa area and am reasonably familiar with the rocks and the region.
The thing that I learnt was that Exco were still actively exploring and finding stuff right up to the WSP takeover and that the area we are discussing would have had follow up work planned.
In the last 2012 annual report you can see this image.
Its showing the large purple magnetic anomaly located 3.5km south-southeast of Mt Freda mine (Canteen South) and another Mag anomaly(Canteen) located about 2km southeast of Mt Freda. Its helpful that the mining lease boundaries around Mt Freda haven't changed a great deal so you can compare the old Exco maps to the more recent AMG maps. Note that the pale green lines in the image delineate areas of Cu in soil > 250ppm. Unfortunately it looks like the AMG SAM survey didn't quite go far enough to the southeast to extend to the entire area that Exco were keen on, but it helps explain why the transfer of some of that exploration ground from WSP to AMG to the southeast of Mt Freda was a condition of the deal made around the Mt Freda stockpiles.
