They have previously indicated that the full program, once proven by the trial ship, would involve some 100 ships. That would doubtless be spread over many years, maybe ten.
As for the class of ship, it would have to include all Arleigh Burke destroyers. My money is on one of that class being the first ship.
The unasked question though is whether or not the new technology would be suitable for incorporation into new ship designs!
