Actually, if any of them were even semi literate they would have read and understood the merger scheme document and managed their holding accordingly (ie selling before the merger).
It really was not that hard.
Funnily enough I know one holder who listened to his broker who said he didn't need to fill out the international holder form. Makes me laugh.
