Covata deploys Safe Share on Microsoft’s Azure Cloud Platform

Sydney, Australia – Covata Limited (ASX: CVT) is pleased to announce it has entered into various

arrangements with Microsoft (through its Australian regional office) as follows:

• Covata has deployed Safe Share on Microsoft’s Azure Cloud platform. It will be available to customers by the end of September 2017. Further discussions are being held with Microsoft UK to replicate this deployment in that market, with the intention to expand to Europe (Germany initially) and the US.

• Covata will also integrate its platform and products into the Microsoft application stack, including Office 365, SharePoint and OneDrive.

Covata Managing Director and CEO Mr Ted Pretty said, “With over 80 per cent of the Fortune 500 on the Microsoft Cloud, Microsoft to surpass 100 million Office 365 users in 2017, and more than 250,000 organisations now using SharePoint, the alignment with Microsoft is a compelling proposition for Covata and its customers”.

Microsoft also announced on 27 June 2017 that the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) had formally certified a greatly expanded range of Microsoft Azure platform and Microsoft Office 365 services for inclusion on the ASD Certified Cloud Services List (CCSL). Covata products and services will also be available on this platform enabling federal state and local agencies users to process and store unclassified information holding Australian government sensitivity markers. This may be appealing to those who are comfortable with secure cloud delivered services.

Covata’s secure collaboration products will also continue to be available to Government users through Macquarie Telecom as a dedicated or shared hosted service under its SIGBOX brand which enables users to share, store and collaborate data between agencies, and approved third parties. Built exclusively for Government agencies, SIGBOX Secure dropbox can share files instantly and is secured up to “Protected” classification. Files are stored in dedicated environments which conform to the Government Information Security Manual (ISM).
