Interesting footage of the computerised robotic Tig welder. Thanks.

A bit like Hadrian X, FBR, the robotic brick layer in many ways, which I held at a similar stage to this.
Went on to do 20 or 30 bags from memory, not that I held for those, unfortunately.

This will be another big step in the progression of labour intensive building practices being digitised and mechanised.
The job time and labour cost is a fraction of what construction/manufacturing companies would be used to.

This often means that designers/construction companies can specify many more metal based materials, simply because of the low cost /high speed fabrication. This will allow many plastic applications to be taken over by metals, which are much stronger and less easily damaged/crushed/tampered with.

Think remote locations, hundreds of miles of pipe work able to be run out in a cost effective manner.

Water, oil, air, sewerage, other needs .

Think of the huge cost reductions in stainless steel vats for wineries and beer makers.
    Underground Tunnel building.
    Lift shafts.
    Building facades
    Bridge construction
    Buses, planes, trains

The mind boggles as to the new applications that will be brought into play because of the cost/time reductions.
That's how the building/fabrication industries all work, cheaper / cost reduction outcomes lead to those techniques being in high demand.
The innovative technology will drive the materiality of design and specification.

    Anyway, just thinking aloud!!!
