Be realistic & ask yourself ‘why would shareholders be the focus of management who aren’t shareholders in a meaningful sense themselves?’
They may hold shares but how much have those shares cost them personally? Nothing really.
Some may think ‘yeah but they’re part of their overall renumeration package’, which is true but that only leads us to at least consider the fact that either the company couldn’t really afford to pay the salary that some required or that those employed as directors don’t have as much confidence in the long term future of the entity compared to directors of companies who, for example, have put their own money in.
It’s not a footy team. No stock is. Subtract the emotion & add an impartial comparative appraisal.
I can see myself someday covering up the names of companies & just looking at the numbers, then choosing which to go with based on that. I’ve invested/traded that way thus far, without actually needing to cover the names.
Dunkin... nothing to see? I’d say less potential buyers to see the stock would be more accurate.
