The original plan was to have the initial testing period for 120 days starting October 1.

Now it's "Freshero have shortened and delayed the start of their trials to commence middle October".

I take it as meaning that, even though it's starting a couple of weeks later than initially planned, they won't be needing to extend the finish date to complete the assessment. In other words, the late start won't delay things.
