God what a laugh.

So RNT have allowed AirBnb to have a link on their website which allows people to not only take on short term accomodation which is in direct competition to what the majority of owners who list on RNT are trying to achieve (ie secure long term tenants). Not only that but they are actively encouraging owners to list there properties on AirBnB with the 2nd option (no I'm serious - check out the link via RNT).

Also just checked AirBnB and this is not reciprocated with RNT. If it was a partnership surely there would also be a link on AirBnB. "Hey if you're looking for a long term rental check out our partners at RNT".

Did I miss the part in the announcement where RNT mention how much AirBnb were paying them for the privilege?

This smacks of desperation in my books. They haven't a hope in hell of commercialising this website. Agents won't pay to advertise on RNT and they are left dealing with private landlords who are notoriously frugal.
