yes that would be possible , just put crushed 50mm p80 ore through a trommel wash plant as used in alluvial mining, in that process heavies in the fraction that is smaller than the holes in the trommel (gold and iron sand ) would be retained out on the riffles or if one wanted to get fancy separated out in an inline pressure jig with the rest of the fines being dumped .
But Then freight for comminution and CIL processing the rock that was too large for the holes in the trommel and ended up coming out the end of the trommel
Would need to do some met tests to see how much of the ore is in the clay /silt/sand fraction of the ore and if there is sufficient water for a wash plant as would need around 30 times as much water in mass compared to the mass of rock processed .
