I agree. I have a feeling this company is overly focused on China.
My assessment is that if you are selling electric scooters or bikes, the two most sensible strategies would be either to: 1) sell a premium product in mature markets (there are some indications Vmoto may be heading in this direction) or 2) focus on regions in the early stages of economic development such as Sub-Saharan Africa.
Alternatively there is no reason why they couldn't hedge their bets and try a bit of both.
I have an positive contrarian view on Africa, the reason for my optimism is because I suspect growth in Africa will surprise on the upside over the next decade. The falling cost of solar is a wonderful boon for energy-poor Africa, which is one of the sunniest continents on earth.
Historically, there has been a close correlation between the 'electrification' of nations and strong economic growth and I think the same will be true for Africa.
