Yes good point. It’s easy to be too cynical about things being rigged in the small end of the market and not have any faith in these processes.
5 years ago I was a shareholder in Discovery Metals following a takeover offer. KPMG/SRK were hired as the independent expert and said the offer was too low. DML subsequently went broke due to major issues in the geological model and grades etc. A class action is being conducted against KPMG for their advice.
This sort of thing makes independent experts consider the quality of their advice.
