I must pull you up on one thing @eshmun. Having been Involved with such things, I can assure you that any independent expert that values their reputation, i.e. they plan on doing more independent experts reports (IER), will fiercely protect their independence, to the point that, apart from exchanging pleasantries with the client on commissioning of the IER, they will have nothing more to do with the client until they deliver the report.

At the "meet and greet" meeting at the start of the assignment, the IE whom I dealt with, wouldn't even tell me what valuation method they intended to use and deflected the question by saying, they used several methods before listing them and then saying that they would probably use a couple!
