Bechtel was the head contractor so ultimately the buck stopped with them. There is plenty of blame to go around though for the time and cost blowouts.

I first learnt to read people when I worked in debt collection during my university days, but you will never be surrounded by a more diverse group of people than when you work on one of these large projects, that is when your communication skills are truly honed, and if you listen more than you speak and you stay in your lane you can really learn a lot.

Most of the people that worked on Wheatstone have worked on other O&G and mining projects in Australia and around the world. I was fortunate to make a lot of good contacts during my time on the project.
