I'm not sure I would classify that release as a "very good explanation" however it has clearly been prepared with some meticulous care

In regards to the "telling" paragraph which you reference, one word can make all the difference...

"The selective leaking of confidential company communications appears to be..."

Imo, the following paragraph may be the most "telling" part of the release:
