Ann: Response to Media Reports-CWN.AX, page-49

I have stared at this with some bewilderment and confusion and have a mish mash of thoughts on the matter....
1. CWN's chinese partner isn't exactly an upstanding international citizen by reputation.
2. China doesn't like CWN's Sydney strategy due to the potential impact.
3. Maybe CWN did not play by the rules, both written and unwritten, and are about to pay for it.
4. China isn't impressed with Australia's position in regards the South China Sea.
5. China isn't impressed with Australia's position on foreign residential property investment.
6. China isn't impressed with Australia's decision regarding TransGrid, Ausgrid, Kidman Station...
7. CWN is a high profile and relatively easy target to send a message to the outside world.

If the CWN share price keeps falling it will be a cheap buyback for Packer any time soon but it certainly is a playground for those taking hedge positions or shorting the stock (for those that know how and actually can).

No matter which way is true north, the odds on this one seem stacked against CWN as it is now up against a greater evil than itself.
