Put it this way, there's no one answer, and always exceptions as far as concerted 'pumps', but things like revenue and hype play a greater role when your financial management/position is 'strong' or even adequate to begin with. Growth is a function of cash, and financial runway is a function of cash. A company that has for example, $10-20m in cash has runway to see if it's growth takes off, even if sales are negligible and it bleeds cash in the meantime. Maybe it gets there, maybe it doesn't. The majority of specs certainly don't. A company that at any given time only has a couple million dollars in cash (if that), and investors smell the next capital raise right around the corner, is hardly setting itself up to 'take off' from that runway without driving the SP into the ground. Then when said SP is so far into the ground, upside of the business is scaled down because of the difficulty raising cash (as above, that functional growth driver).

If I came back to you, cap in hand, time and time again asking for more money for my business that kept diminishing your investment, wouldn't you start to ask me questions? Rather than what 'story' I sell you about how I'll be able to achieve 'xyz'...but only if you give me more money?

The talk about the book value of the stock, and shell value, also needs to take into consideration the very relevance I, and the ASX put forward around the intangibles being claimed - yet alone the unresolved debt that continues to grow.
