Mining footprint worldwide is negligible, and a jungle operation with a mine closure plan and rehabilitation plan is basically nothing. Have you seen a development in jungle that has been allowed to grow back, even without rehab, the jungle reclaims all, even buildings.
Banging on about mine environmental damage is a bit short sighted, especially since they have rehabilitation requirements, if you want a real bad guy look at farming and residential development.
When people bag mining they don’t tend to think about how mining directly affects them, steel for cars, steel for roofs, copper for wiring, bauxite for aluminium cans and engine blocks, clay for bricks, rare earths for tricky gadgets and magnets, stone for roads, lithium for ladies battery powered products, vanadium for steel hardening and batteries, titanium for hips, tin, lead, ect ect.
So bah humbug to mine bashing just because it doesn’t fit into your own small world view, if anyone feels that strongly about it I challenge them to boycott all mining products. Not as easy as becoming a vego
