A couple of the properties were obtained in March 2012, probably from private lessors. A very remote area of the Amazon jungle. They've also been involved in at least 3 other projects to March 2012 , 2 in Brazil and one in Peru.
Maybe they're hoping to promote and sell, they're in a high rainfall area with very limited access. According to one post the Juma East project is accessed by a 30 minute drive, a 3 hour boat trip and then via quad bike. Then you tear down the Amazon Jungle, not very PC.
I'm still wondering why gold majors aren't breaking down the doors trying to get in on the action.
