Specific case - The recommendation cites the case of Mineração Bbx do Brasil Ltda., Controlled by the foreign mining company BBX Holdings Limited, as an example of the problems that may be caused if the recommended measures are not met. The company is one of the defendants in the public civil suit that deals with the Juma Eldorado gold mine, in which the MPF demands the recovery of environmental liabilities and dams from mining tailings, broken or with imminent threat of rupture, left in the vast degraded areas of the garimpo, located in the vicinity of the municipality of Apuí (rural area of Novo Aripuanã), and with overlapping to the Federal Conservation Unit Aripuanã National Forest, then in state recognition process.
