An upvote from me for a bit of unconventional unpicking of the half year accounts @Portfolio plus. I am sure things have changed since I was in the game ( I was one of the bruisers as you call them ) and Keith Johns techniques of collection are more in line with or even in front of the changes which are occurring within the banking and finance industry as a whole. Look at the changes recommended by the Haynes RC and it is obvious that the trend is towards more protection, more assessment, softer negotiation, and more flexibilty in dealing with debtors generally - particularly with those that genuinely have struck hard times and know how to make a lot of noise. 

Not sure about the 10% collection in the "rats and mice" section. I found that it was a very unpredictable value as once weeded out as being unwilling and unable to pay it was difficult to extract anything unless you actually took a hands on approach and won their confidence by helping them. Anyway despite my ancient and primitive views I do go along with your overall optimism.
