Card counters were kicked out once spotted and then they put on wigs and makeup to avoid detection. In response the casino increased the number of cards in the deck to make counting harder.

No doubt there is an evolutionary process going on in the stockmarket where winners are less likely to tell their secrets, but they usually retire young!
