ok how's this for an unsubstantiated conspiracy theory.
Rumour of (good?) announcement.
Switch off of buyback substantiates rumour (particularly since the price is at 1.40 not 1.70)
Someone spies opportunity, sells down stock below 1.40 to trigger stops. Buys up at lower price.
Announcement made, or buyback resumes, price goes up, someone happy.
Actually, like most conspiracy theories, I'm not convinced it makes a whole lot of sense.
