FORMER Aluminex Resources director David Alan Zohar was today sentenced to 14 months in jail for providing false and misleading information.
In February, Zohar pleaded guilty to three counts of providing false and misleading information to the Australian Securities Exchange in relation to the 2008 float of Aluminex.
Zohar is to serve a minimum of five months before being released on a $A5000 recognisance requiring him to be of good behaviour for 12 months.
“Enforcement of Corporations Act provisions … is vital to maintaining market integrity and promoting the confident and informed participation of investors in the financial market,” Judge Anthony Derrick said in handing down his decision in the Perth District Court.
