I agree Andy#three, IF they had used your words, they would have been more committed to taking up their full entitlement (never the less if a tsunami hit their house or floods wash them away of Yasi comes back to get them -heaven forbid, I bet they would possibly renege on any commitment) The notice says they have an "Intend to" take up full entitlement to the rights issue but are COMMITTED to purchase in the shortfall if any!! (I trust that's more than one or two shares- if so it would look silly,I bet they would not like that look).
The dictionary definitions for committed are: to promise or give your loyalty, time or money to a particular principle, person or plan of action [R] Like so many men, he has problems committing himself to a relationship. The government must commit itself to improving health care. Once we have committed to this course of action there is no going back.
