Boddington is a 2615Ma calc-alkaline skarn deposit superposed upon a much older 2675Ma volcanic complex including porphyry intrusions, rhyolites and andesites.
Hard to say how much mineralisation was present before the 2615Ma event.
The ore system is 5km long and 1km wide with two main areas of fluid flow overlapping.
Very low vein % addition at Boddington as compared to modern porphyry systems (1% vs 3%).
Average gold grain size is ~10 microns.
Wholesale replacement and reduction of magnetite by gold-silver-copper-molybdenum-bearing fluids appear spacially and temporally related to the adjacent Wourahming monzogranite ie. intrusion-related.
PS Your guess-timate of 500kozs at Katanning matches my own expectations
