A great deal of this forum seems to be focussed on negatives. We should remind ourselves that the dairy industry in Australia is not a horror story (despite what one might read in the Weekly Times from time to time).

Good producers are being offered premiums on the farm gate price. They get a better result if they have high quality milk (which the good ones tend to have). The bigger producers are able to negotiate reasonable contracts. Organic milk (and milk in conversion to organic) commands an additional premium. Milk exports are increasing. There are good opportunities for AHF. The test, of course, is whether the opportunities can be captured by management or not.
