If relevant expenditure has been spent then they are entitled to an R&D offset.
I agree that they had to be incompetent to take the SP from over $1 to the current SP now. Whether the leopard has changed its spots remains to be seen.
However any sort of deal at this level will double the SP, I am fairly confident of that. If the deal is for a cash flow positive business, well the SP will more than double IMO.
