Well - I respectfully disagree - have shorted both. I feel a bit more comfortable with the SGR short, as the expat detainees might be released quickly, if the authorities get their smoking gun - not that I think that will change anything, but will create a short term spike perhaps. I don't think SGR will pick that business up. I suspect that Chinese high rollers will look at other means for getting their money out of China. Chanticleer AFR mentioned "There are concerns that the crackdown means Chinese authorities also have access to databases containing the names and personal details of high-rollers in China, who will now be reluctant to do business with any casino operator." If that is right - then the problems are in both directions - i.e. casinos can no longer chase Chinese whales, and the whales will no longer want to associate with casinos out of fear.
