Ok. So let’s be clear. 14D is not buying energy and selling at a loss. Nor is it a perfect solution.

right now grids use base power. If you store that, anndys point holds true. Future state of the electricity industry is what’s termed dispatchable energy.  In other words the electricity is stored until it is needed.

14D offers the potential to plug a large gap in the market around heat and electricity through energy storage. How efficient is it? Not as efficient as lithium ion for electricity. However where heat generation is needed then it has a strong solution potential.

as far as efficiency is concerned, since it would be renewable energy which is currently very inefficient the argument is moot. 

First and foremost it needs to prove its commercially viable. So saying it’s the next big thing is a bit early. Saying it’s inefficient is also premature.
