I don't believe there is enough information to make any assumptions regarding the costs of the shaft project.
The project is quite significant to the company and has major cost and revenue implications going forward. I don't believe it is acceptable to say that our consultants advised us to do it without any further reasoning or justification . There are obviously reasons for the change so why don't they tell us what they are.
I don't understand what 'blind sinking' is but it sounds considerably more expensive than the initial plans. One, they were forced into it due to poor ground conditions, and two the time to complete has extended significantly.
Too much unnecessary uncertainty.
