In relation to the bonus shares.

1. If he does a dude deal, then the shares are worth less too him.
2. In relation to the "it's his job". He's not running a biscuit factory. This is at the pointy end of capitalism and he's trying to have a small cap company with a world class asset do a deal that fair for it shareholders. He's dealing with very large companies who like to bully and screw the little fellas. If he get us over the line, he will have earned every share. 

And those of us that are still share holders will also benefit with multi bags.

This is at the risky end of investing but the reward can be great.
