Why is it crucial to the clearly stated cash position ?

The cash is obviously held in an interest paying US dollar term account, note the $95k cash accrual this quarter in the amount held  in the term deposit vs last quarter. 

The company has stated numerous times that AMEC/ AGMI are responsible for the drilling bond . They have a legally binding agreement that is now only waiting the standard ratifications .

They have repaid the loan slightly ahead of time, obviously saving a little compound interest.

The cash quite obviously is held for a fixed term ( hint = term deposit) quite obviously they are getting interest ( hint = cash is accruing) 

Unless the deal completely breaks down ( which let’s face it, is what the market and some posters on here have thought from day one, but we keep ploughing ahead moving things on ) this cash is an interest bearing cash asset  IMO and also clearly their accredited accountant acting CFOs one , and is lodged as a cash asset.

I suspect AGMI may well have already lodged the bond payment, or if not will be imminently.

however the company does not need to announce that, they have advised clearly already AGMI are liable for it.

IMO the reason the US cash is still showing the way it is in the accounts, is it is a fixed term USD deposit which covered the bond lodgement at the beginning but likely does not now / or will not very soon but it still has a fixed period to run in the agreed term before it can be accessed.
