HC really isn't a good shared opinion forum at all in my opinion. Because what happens is when someone has a negative view of a company and because of risk of litigation HotCopper shuts that view down.
So you get an overly biased positive feedback loop on shares which would imho encourage people to buy and not sell.
I use HotCopper to hear others opinions then do my own research.
I want to hear the negative views, they are risks I may have overlooked
Only the stupid investor doesn't want to know as much info as he can before he or she makes their investment decision.
HotCopper could have a name change to the UPRamp Forum; that would more closely resemble what it is.
