They need the proposals first.
They had a range of interested parties last year and these would have received the technical review and market studies. They need time to digest that material, noting mine plan was competed 4 December ( technical review may have been finalised or updated within a week or two of this date ).

The shortlist will effectively be those that attend the site visits. Seems they could be starting next week, given timing of Mining Indaba which is 4 to 7 February.

Incidentally - I couldn’t see any evidence of BAT attending mining Indaba. Wouldn’t be a priority.
