Well at least the government and Barrick are negotiating.  IF this get sorted fairly and the government doesn't do anything else stupid there is a chance BUT farout anything is possible. Changes to the mining code don't look that bad, just a few extra %.  Except the 15% of mines bit, clarification is needed on how that works. There is hope, if the governement starts acting rationally, BUT if not MSR should just walk from the project imo. The government must act to restore investor confidence and create certainty in the mining sector or this will have long term consequences for the country  imo.

I also suspect Barrick/Acacia may not be entirely innocent and have in part triggered this mess.
