In my opinion the laos assets r a ticking time bomb.
You've gotta remem. tenements cost money to upkeep and the CNMC/NFC have a presence as well as oblig. to maintain those sites.
VAN needs to find a way to exit as quietly as possible as it doesnt have the resources to sit on it. CNMC seem quite happy to shelf Laos until better infrastructure is built and then further exploration is conducted in the region. As it is 'low grade' the real money is in the cost side (shallow overburden, low silica, tonnage, and proximity to refinery). In my view they need an alumina refinery in Champasak, and that means power, roads, water. Its remote so none of that is there at the moment.
Make no mistake, the project would be a billion dollar effort - I would think a refinery alone would come in around $US600M.
