Position Context
With an impending listing on the ASX, Gruden, a dynamic and entrepreneurial group operating in the Digital and Software Development industries, is embarking on a significant growth strategy in Australia and abroad. Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Controller is pivotal to Gruden's current transformation from private to public company.
This is a hand-on role within a small accounting team. We are therefore seeking a technically strong, pro-active and detailed oriented individual that has a strong ethic, good sense of accountability and strong time management skills as would be expected in such an important role in a publicly listed company. This is a career pathway to a CFO role within an ASX listed company. General accountabilities include:
Preparation of group's financial statements in accordance with AASB and ASX listing requirements and assistance with Annual Report;
Plan, manage and drive month end process;
Manage Payroll, Contract to Cash (AR) and Procure to Pay cycles (AP);
Assist CFO in ensuring adequate internal controls, reviewing and updating processes and procedures and enforcement of governance;
Assist CFO in cash flow management of the group;
Assist CFO with preparation of management reports including budget to actual analysis, cost and margin analysis by key customer for Business Unit's and other analysis as required;
Manage and drive adherence to tax compliance obligations for BAS, Payroll tax and FBT, as well as assist the CFO with group's income tax filings;
Assist with selection, installation and transition to a new accounting/enterprise system;
Drive special projects to streamline compliance and identify opportunities and exposures;
Liaise with relevant external parties; and
Assist CFO and COO with special projects including potential M&A activity.
Mandatory pre-requisite qualifications/skills:
CA qualified with minimum 5 years experience in a
Big 4;
Strong technical and analytical skills
Strong IT and accounting systems experience;
High sense of accountability;
Proactive and driven to exceed expectation;
Exposure to change;
Strong delegation/coaching skills;
Strong communication skills.
