Yes that's my observation, many types of earth movements have millions of years of progression and can move considerable distances and in any direction. If the old mine was pumped out and the faces cleaned up a good experienced geologist would be able to read which way it went although not how far. The mineral sands outlook is also getting very interesting, there could be movement at the station soon.
