In some ways I can see the negative points of view, but I think it would be a positive for the green movement if this mine can go ahead. If; and I say, if all MITECO guidelines are followed it would be a positive to have a way in which potash can be mined without the environmental damage, make a profit, supply much needed fertiliser and provide jobs. Spain's unemployment rate at present is at 14.55%, the second highest in the EU and the world. Their GDP is only just meeting debt and hasn't got any better in the last 4 years. More jobs mean more spending by the people. A green mine will show the rest of the world that it can be done and be a plus in their pocket. Highfield said it would create about 800 jobs, but there would be a flow on effect that would end up creating more jobs. The IMF has once again warned Spain to continue with labour reforms and to meet it's obligations to it's deficit, it can be fined if it doesn't. Hopefully there's good news in the near future.
