I've been thinking about RNT over the last few days. Currently agents are listing for free. They won't pay for RNT unless they are receiving enquiries from the site. So the challenge is to get prospective tenants to not only visit the site but to make enquiries through it.

RNT in addition to any advertising that they are doing should run a competition - maybe do a deal with a car dealership to give away a car a month drawn at random for people making enquiries through their site. I know if I was looking for a rental this would tempt me to make enquiries through them. It would probably cost them a few hundred K for 12 months of cars (subsidised by the dealer of course who gets free advertising).

REA and Domain have never offered anything like this from my memory.

As I've mentioned before they need to do things differently if they are going to survive in this market.
