Clearly the rock have alteration, and minerals sericite, pyrite, hematite, quartz etc are commonly associated with gold mineralisation events. Good news.
Shame there was no gold seen within any of the other minerals as it would answer some of the underlying questions/risk with BBX. Either these rocks are not carrying gold or it is nano sized as you suggest.
The phrase ‘having the original mineralogy and texture preserved’ is often incorrectly used as most of the examples are altered. In those cases the mineralogy will reflect the alteration mineralogy, not the original mineralogy.
Good to see them doing this type of work, they should do done on high grade samples.
