If you have been following my posts I said I'm waiting for the equity component to be declared before adding to my holding. This developmemt makes me more wary now when it comes to topping up.

I don't tend to hit the sell button on my stocks unless I can really see future value evaporation. I tend to mitigate risk by portfolio weighting so my defence against a deteriorating situation here and in other stocks is just to sit on the stock. Pretty much the same with all my stocks, no stop losses, hardly ever sell. I just wear losses in the portfolio as long as total accumulated gains out weigh losses. My trigger finger however is more itchy when it comes to profit taking. I tend to take profits on stories I'm not strongly interested in and will trade the margins of stories I am interested in while adjusting the weighting of my core holdings (that's if liquidity allows). CMM is pretty illiquid so that got factored into my portfolio weighting in the stock, ie a more conservative weighting but not a completely insubstantial weighting. It's sit and hold for the moment, like WAF.

Sorry for the long explanation, but I never look at buying and selling a stock in islolation, it's dependant on my broader portfolio plus the cash component of my portfolio which I have been trying to maintain in a healthy state so I can go shopping if the blood really starts running in broader markets or if the gold price really breaks out into bull territory in which case I can more strongly join the bull rally. We need to see the US$1,370 - US$1,400 range breached, hopefully in 2019, then a real break above about US$1,520 to signify the bull is real, hopefully in the coming decade. Esh
