Just for fun 'n games, some geopoetry on the phase 1 resource information in the quarterly. Some of the thoughts are reasonable most are speculative and some possible ideas for further exploration around Opasura.
One thing that got me wandering down this rabbit hole of conjecture was what do the various shades of pink/purple on these images mean? Not obviously covered on the legend.
Open pit potential for the dark pink/magenta? Doesn't make much sense for some areas.
Finally worked out the probable simple explanation: it is the colours produced by overlaying a mask!!!! Nothing significant but will leave the words here since that's how this post started.
From my previous work and sections in this announcement there appears to be a hint of horst and graben structure with faulting mainly along the NNW-SSE trend visible at the macro scale of hundreds of meters.
The 'simple' stratigraphic sequence Candelaria (Top), Arenillas (middle) and Revancha (base) gives some clues as to structure and possibly mineralisation.
The 50m apparent offset on the eastern side of OPW (Opasura west) is evidence of moderate structure.
These faults ?rolls/folds may correlate in someways to lateral variations of mineralisation. Will be interesting to see if the apparently elevated portions of the Central Zone return significant mineralisation.
The Candelaria formation block west of OPW has to be down thrown a significant distance on the Arroyo del Campo fault as was suggested in early AZS models.
Going back to initial announcements (sept 2017) shows that Phase 1 drilling and geochem is adding detail to that exploration model.
Geochemistry in the Mina Blanca area, where the Arenillas is known to outcrop, will be followed up in due course. From a previous post:
Another image from the initial Opasura acquisition announcement gives some hint of ground stability in the adits with very limited timber supports in evidence.
The sections in the quarterly show thickness variations in the Arenillas formation and the relationship of mineralisation to that unit in particular.
Detailed studies of these variations and many other factors (Metal Zonation, alteration ?? etc) may lead to understanding how the deposits were formed and where exploration may be more profitable.
Geophysics + Geol + ?, and drilling to vector in on deposits.
My idea of fun maybe a bit repetitive, to some, but hope there is something for folks to consider.
