Have to admit I pretty much agree with your comments Shark, however recent prices have been in relation to low trading volumes each day, so perhaps there are a lot out there sitting on the sidelines and seeing how the CR plays out.

On a brighter note, we are at the cusp of introducing a commercial product into the energy market, albeit at a small initial scale. And interest in this particular technology is clearly growing.

Compare that with out today the following press release, and note in particular the challenges faced in this version in relation to high costs, given that their first Portland proposal was scrapped for that reason and so now are trialling in Port Fairy.

Despite this, the CEO says in this presso .....
"Gone are the days of very simple wave energy converters, we're into the era of very advanced, computer controlled, autonomous systems that can survive out there and generate reasonable amounts of power."

An interesting observation in light of his other comments about cost/logistics etc.

So Sharks, as you say, a little faith and belief may be warranted, but with Protean it's introduction to the world appears imminent from company announcements.

Will it compete downstream (excuse the pun) with alternatives like this one ? May never need to, either down to different market/applications or if the cost metrics of alternatives means they continue to struggle, or in fact if governments prefer to seek out renewable systems that don't require such huge levels of subsidisation. (Or all three)

Not being a religious man, I have trouble with the word faith. For me, it's the sheer simplicity of the idea here and it's extraordinary adaptability that has me invested.
